All users of the Human Managed platform are required to undergo two factor authentication. When you sign up for an account, 2FA is enabled by default.
2FA helps protect your HM account by adding an additional level of security. Instead of just using a single authentication factor, which is usually something you know such as a username-password combination to prove your identity, we have added a second factor to make accounts more secure.
The primary 2FA method of the HM platform is Phone (SMS or Voice) authentication. However, we also support the following methods as options:
- Mobile Apps authentication
- Email authentication
- Hardware Security Key / FIDO2 authentication
We recommend setting up at least one of these optional methods to prevent being locked out of your account:
- Head to your Profile Settings in HMapps Dashboard
- Under Security Methods, find the option you wish to use then click Set up.
