HM offers two-step authentication using a mobile app as another (optional) way to prove your identity in case you are having trouble signing in. You may set up Google Authenticator (available in Android and iOS or Okta Verify (in Android and iOS.)

During account activation

If you are just about to activate your account, you will be asked to set up optional 2FA methods in the final step of the account activation process:

  1. Select the authenticator app you wish to use, either Okta or/and Google then click Set up.Optional_Methods.png
  2. Scan the code on your screen with your mobile device's camera. Your device will ask you to open the code in the app.

After scanning, identity.hm.works will be added to your authenticator app, completing the set up process. On your next log in, HM will request a code from the app you have set up.

Through identity.hm.works

If you did not set up during account activation, you can go to identity.hm.works to do it:

  1. Login to your hm.works account.
  2. Click your profile and select Settings:HM_apps_settings.png
  3. Under Security Methods, find the authenticator app you wish to use, either Okta or/and Google then click Set up. Step_1_Security_Methods.png
  4. Scan the code on your screen with your mobile device's camera. Your device will ask you to open the code in the app.

This completes the set up process. After scanning, identity.hm.works will be added to your authenticator app.
