Note: This method is only available for Android mobile users. Before setting up, you will need to 1) turn on the Bluetooth of your mobile and desktop/laptop; and, 2) have Chrome installed and launched on your Android phone during set up.

HM also offers Biometric authentication as an optional security method. There are two ways you can set this up:

During account activation

If you are just about to activate your account, you will be asked to set up optional 2FA methods in the final step of the account activation process:

  1. Click Set up under Security Key or Biometric Authenticator:biometric_method.png
  2. Scan the QR code using your Android phone. This code expires in 30 seconds.bio_QR.png
  3. Wait for the success modal that says enrollment is complete.

Through identity.hm.works

If you did not set up during account activation, you can go to HM apps to do it:

  1. Login to your hm.works account.
  2. Click your profile and select Settings:HM_apps_settings.png
  3. Under Security Methods, click the Set up button beside Security Key or Biometric. hmapps_security_methods.png
  4. You should be prompted for further authentication, depending on what you have set up previously.
  5. Scan the QR code using your Android phone. This code expires in 30 seconds.bio_QR.png
  6. Wait for the success modal that says enrollment is complete.

After completing these steps, Biometric authentication will be available as a 2FA method on your next login.
